Love Your Sister is not your typical Australian cancer charity.

They famously bucked the traditional ‘pink for breast cancer’ schtick and chose black as their brand colour – which they felt was far more fitting for a disease that kills 3,000 Aussie women each year. They unicycled around Australia to raise money for the cause. And they said ‘yes’ when I pitched the idea of making a "Little Box of Fucks...for when you have none left to give" as a fundraising merch idea. They agreed it was likely to appeal to their irreverent audience and it tied in with the way most people feel about cancer.

I came up with the card ideas and hand-drew all the artwork. 2,000 boxes were printed. That night a post went up the Love Your Sister Facebook wall…and within 48 hours, they'd sold 5,000 units and had to remove it from their shop.

To date, these boxes have raised over $400,000 for cancer research…not bad for something that sells for $15 a unit
